We keep things straightforward so you can focus on the hunt. Nebraska’s waterfowl, goose, and dove seasons run from early fall through winter, with a spring conservation snow goose season. Reach out any time for current-season dates and the best available weekends.

Hunts accommodate groups of 1–8 hunters. On-site lodging is planned to open in 2027; until then we’re glad to recommend comfortable options nearby.

Licensing & Regulations

Nebraska Hunting Licenses & Seasons

Every hunter must arrive with the correct, valid Nebraska hunting licenses and stamps before we can take you into the field. Central Vortex Outfitters cannot purchase licenses for you and cannot allow anyone to hunt without proper paperwork.

Required licenses for waterfowl/goose hunts

Nebraska small game hunting license (resident or nonresident, as applies to you)
Nebraska state waterfowl stamp
Federal waterfowl/goose stamp
Any additional permits required by Nebraska Game and Parks for your specific hunt dates

Gun laws & safety

You are responsible for knowing and following all Nebraska season dates, shooting hours, bag limits, and possession limits for the species you are hunting.

All hunters must follow all state and federal firearm laws at all times. You are responsible for transporting and storing your firearm legally and safely. Firearms must be unloaded and cased while traveling. Unsafe gun handling is grounds for ending the hunt with no refund.

Getting There

Transportation & Meeting Location

All hunters are responsible for their own transportation to and from Central Vortex Outfitters hunts. We do not provide rides to the field or between locations. Please plan your travel, fuel, and timing in advance so you can arrive at the agreed meeting spot on time.

Exact meeting locations and times are confirmed in your booking details and may change based on weather, bird movement, and land access. Always check your confirmation email and any text updates before you travel.

We provide expert guides, scouting, blinds, and decoys. You are responsible for bringing your own personal gear. Use this checklist to make sure you are ready for the field.

Firearms & ammo

Shotgun that you are comfortable and safe using
Non-toxic shotgun shells that meet Nebraska regulations for the species you are hunting

Clothing & personal gear

Weather-appropriate hunting clothing in neutral or camo colors
Waterproof boots or waders (for duck hunts)
Warm layers, gloves, and hat for cold mornings

Central Vortex Outfitters is based in Bridgeport, in the western Nebraska Panhandle — productive flyway country for ducks and geese. We’ll share exact meeting locations when you book.

Guided waterfowl (ducks and geese, including Canada geese, snow geese, and specklebellies), spring conservation snow goose, and early-season dove — mourning, Eurasian collared, and white-winged dove where seasonal conditions allow.

Your valid Nebraska hunting license and required stamps (including federal duck stamp and HIP for waterfowl), weather-appropriate gear and waders/boots, your shotgun with non-toxic shot for waterfowl, and a cooler for your birds. Questions on licensing? Just ask.

Should you need to cancel your booking, your deposit will be non-refundable. However, you can transfer your deposit to another available date at the discretion of the outfitter. We’ll make reasonable efforts to find a suitable alternative date, but rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on availability.
